Google - SEO Optimization Tips

A term widely used on the Web, Search Engine Optimization / SEO (search engine optimization). As the term implies, you optimize the website to look at designated points during construction for search engines, which in turn can affect your position in search results. Especially if you have a website aimed at Dutch visitors only is Google the only search engine more or less relevant to pay attention and respond to optimize your website. Why this is important is that especially companies obviously want to score higher in organic search results than competitors. Some additional tips below.

Organic search / Universal search

There are often various terms listed on search engine optimization, below briefly explains some of these terms. If the first is often spoken of organic search results. With organic search results will be the place referred to in the regular search results. This is a place that is not available and you thus optimize the highest possible score. The paid results can be found in Google among others at the top of search results often with a yellow background and are on the right side of search results. These are ads that which has been paid.
Then there's Universal Search / Blended Search. With Universal Search in the search results you see a mix of images, videos, news results, etc. Especially money than for images and videos that it is important to optimize this because it is also increasingly appear in the search results.

Use correct HTML

Then the additional tips with first the HTML code itself is where it all begins. Besides optimizing the content for Google, you can also do various things in the HTML code. If a search engine indexes your site it only sees the text and the source code of your website and so it starts the building and accessibility of the website. It is therefore important that you correct site code. That is, correct HTML that conforms to the W3C standards. The W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) is an international organization with Web standards (HTML, XHTML, XML and CSS) and defines rules for the Internet. In a tutorial on the W3C find more information about reading. This is an opinion; it does not increase your ranking.

For search engines, automatically imply that the use of Frames is excluded and that is important in the construction of the website a separation between the structure in the document itself and the format specified by the CSS externally. Now to find out if your website code meets the guidelines of the W3C has created a validator. Here you enter the Internet address of your website, and then checks if everything is correct and how many errors it contains so you do to a minimum.

It is also within the source code so that it is important that the content is as high as possible and the first indexed. You might start menu and other things on the right side of your website and then embed the CSS to move left. In the source code will be content in that case are higher than when you directly from the menu on the left post. Another tip is for Google to make sure that your main menu and submenu is constructed with a UL / LI and using divs for the base of your website.
Google looks at how your website is very easy to see with a text browser. It is even possible to view this online based on the text browser Lynx. The link below details.

H1, H2, H3 etc.

But perhaps one of the most important parts of the website is the H1 tags. H1 tags are meant for headlines at the top of a page that you post. Here you turn the key terms for the page. Subheads put you in H2, H3 etc. headings can use up to 6 H6 which is less an issue as the H1. It is also possible to make all your text within H1 tags to place and shape it so it does not seem so. However, this is obviously not an entirely logical structure of a website but will not help towards Google. This will be considered spam and the worst that can happen is a removal from the Google index.

At any rate, placing white keywords on a white background making them unreadable for one user, but have to be indexed by Google. This is obviously viewed as spam and may result in removal from the index in the past cause what ever happened to the German website of BMW.

Description and keywords

Besides the correct code and H1 headings, there are the title and meta tags . The meta description tag is the key. For the description tag money again you do not need to save these and a good description is important. Keep a description of up to 150 / 160 characters and make them unique for each page. Google will display the search results description as a snippet directly below the title so that visitors can read a summary page in which the issue. The description tag does not affect the ranking.

The Keywords Meta tag is a little less important because a lot of abuse made in the past by many nonsensical words to place in order to score higher. In particular, the number of keywords is often a stumbling block for search engines. Google does therefore not use this tag. The awarding of other search engines make sure that you’re up 5 to 7 words per page, more generally will not be indexed.

Other Meta tags such as language, author or copyright you can omit.

Title Tag

Perhaps the most important part of your page is the page title. This title is reflected in the title bar of the browser, but more importantly, the title is visible in the Google search results. Enter a title this good description of the contents of the page and make it not too short nor too long. Keep up the title at 65 to 70 characters and places far to the front keyword in the title. To prevent this, however, placing a number of keywords in a row, because there may be less likely to visitors click on.

You can decide this in the default site title or company name to include. If it contains an important keyword is highly recommended, you have a website name with no occupants, the keyword search terms are not relevant to including them in the title tag because no one in this case subsequent searches. But you have the company name, etc. in the title tag record in order to surf. Simply place it behind the website name in the title in order to place more keywords. Of course, this also at the beginning, but if you have a long website name to the detriment of the rest of the title.
The title is reflected in Google's search results and is truncated with'...' if it is too long. Also the title of a page in the browser title bar and tabs.

Companies

As long as you do not do crazy things is always good optimization. For companies that have money they have to be careful with which company they take the plunge for the optimization. The advantage of a good search engine optimization company has any additional search engine marketing with Google Ad words for example. Note that a # 1 position or a spot on the first page of search results never bought or guaranteed. There are no companies that have a special relationship with Google or a website to give priority. Videos and images

If you use a lot of videos, chances are that they are found in the search engine. With Universal Search, these also reflected in the regular search results. Therefore it is important here to choose a good thumbnail of the video shown in the results but make sure that a particularly good description of the video is like a number of important keywords. It is of course dependent on where a person or the person looking at a video result clicks. Also use a Video Sitemap.
